This box opens upon powering up:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.01\powers hell.exe
Started happening after my gransdson downloaded from a gamesite! I know better, but I gave in. What do I do to get rid of this?

Is there a way to keep this from popping up at startup?

Have you run a virus scan to see if some nasty stuff came along with the downloaded game?

You can at least stop the popup during startup. Open Task Manager by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Delete on your keyboard at the same time. Click on "More details" lower left corner of Task Manager. Click on the Startups tab. Locate anything in that list that looks like WindowsPowerShell, right click it and select Disable. You'll need to reboot to make the change. Of course, this doesn't answer why it was showing up.
