Exclamation Fake DVD player virus?

Hello-
I have a mac OS and had a fake Adobe Flash update alert pop up on my screen. I did not click on anything, but it automatically downloaded a DVD player. I have read that this is a known virus w/Macs, but Avast did not detect it. I cannot delete it. I get a msg that it cannot be deleted because it is part of the system. The download is listed as player.dmg .
Any way to get rid of this?
Thanks very much!

Hello Olgun - thanks for your reply. I have installed/run MalwareBytes. It reports no issues. Apparently this virus has found ways to be recognized as legitimate. Any choices other than to wipe the system clean and start over? I hope?
Thanks.

Thanks, Olgun. The problem is that I cannot get beyond Step 1 of those instructions, because I cannot delete the app. I get a popup with the following msg: "DVD Player" can't be modified or deleted because it's required byt macOS. I was going to post a screenshot, but I cannot see an option for that.
Thanks.

He pkme.

I apologize and I had to go out of town and know I'm too late. I think this warning is a false warning. You should not worry.

Best regards.
