default view reset?

Windows 10 Pro on an Elite Book laptop from HP with an i5-2450M processor and 2.5 ghz and 4 gb ram.

I cannot persuade my device to reset the default on Windows Explorer to show icons as extra large. Sometimes it even shows the items as list or details, which is not too useful.

How do I set Windows Explorer to default view Extra Large icons? TY.

Open File Explorer (aka, Windows Explorer) and set the icons to extra large.
Then click on the File tab (upper left of File Explorer window)
Then click on "Change folder and view options"
In the window that opens, click the View tab
On the View tab, click the button for "Apply to folders"
Click OK

That should make all folders open with the icon size you selected in the first one.

Thanks. Worked great.

Is there also a folder by folder option to keep the current view for the next time I open the folder? If I am not mistaken, in some legacy versions of Windows, that was the default setting. TY

Just set an individual folder the way you want it. Next time you open it, it should keep that setting.
