Spyware problem, HJ log posted

Hi all,

I tried to download a program off of a file share network, and boom, it got me. I ran Ad-a-ware and Spybot search and destroy. While running Search and Destroy, it detected a CMDservice problem, which could not be deleted. This spyware won't let me open up my command prompt, or task manager. I see to have some programs I can't find to get rid of. Thanks in advance for any help. Here is my HijackThis logfile:

Hi
Before we start working with your log, you are running Hijack This from a temporary location. If we leave it where it is, backups will not be saved so lets move the file to it's own folder in C:\Program Files.Remove your copy and download HijackThis. It will create a directory folder for you in C\Program files

Please download Brute Force Uninstaller (http://www.merijn.org/files/bfu.zip).
Unzip it to it’s own folder (c:\BFU)

RIGHT-CLICK HERE (http://metallica.geekstogo.com/alcanshorty.bfu) and choose "Save As" (in IE it's "Save Target As") in order to download Alcra Remover. Save it in the folder you made earlier (c:\BFU).

Open My Computer and navigate to the c:\BFU folder. Start the Brute Force Uninstaller by doubleclicking BFU.exe

In the scriptline to execute field copy and paste c:\bfu\alcanshorty.bfu
Press execute and let it do it’s job.

Wait for the complete script execution box to pop up and press OK.

click "save"

IN "filename" enter log.txt

click exit to exit the BFU program.

Please copy the contents of the log.txt back here in your next reply. The log.txt will be in the C:\BFU\ folder ...

Go into HijackThis->Config->Misc. Tools->Open process manager. Select the following exe file and click End Process for each one if they are listed.

Open Windows Explorer and delete the following highlighted file/s

C:\dfndra_1.exe
C:\WINDOWS\sys10-992389852.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\swinmqez.exe
c:\windows\system32\dwdsregt.exe

Reboot.............

Download Ewido Anti-Malware
  • Install Ewido Anti-Malware
  • Double-click the icon on Desktop to launch Ewido
You will need to update Ewido to the latest definition files.
  • On the top of the main screen click Shield
  • Click the word active to change it to inactive
  • On the top of the main screen click Update.
  • Then click on Start Update. The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update Ewido. When you have finished updating, EXIT Ewido.

Please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. To boot into Safe Mode, please restart your computer. Tap F8 before Windows loads. Select Safe Mode on the screen that appears.
  • In Safe Mode,run Ewido.
  • Click Scanner
  • Click on the Scan tab
  • Click Complete System Scan to begin scanning.
  • When the scan is complete click Recommended Action and change it to Quarantine
  • Then click Apply all actions
Once finished, click the Save report button, then click Save Report As. This will create a text file.

Make sure you know where to find this file again (like on the Desktop).
Restart back into Normal Mode.
Please perform another scan with Hijack This, and then post back with a copy of the Ewido log and the new HijackThis log and the BFU log txt.

Hi Pancake,

I follwed the top directions, but I think I must have done something wrong. When I execute the BFU, and print the log file, I get this:

BFU v1.00.9
Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600 SP2)
Script started at 2:49:52 AM, on 6/26/2006

Script completed.

Did I do something wrong? I checked myself a few times and still the same thing. I'll keep working on the other steps you mentioned, thanks again.

If you downloaded the script and carried out all the instructions that should be fine...

When I restart in safe mode, the resolution is in 800x600. When I open up Ewidos, I can't even see the program because so little of the screen is shown. Is there anyway to change the resolution, or to get the program to be visible? Thanks.

Update:

I was able to run Ewido in safe mode, as well as Spybot S&D. I am still having pop-ups after doing this. Each time I try to delete the files per Pancake's suggestion, they are back again upon restart. Here is my logfile from HJT:

These were instruction from my post before.......I still need the Ewido and the BFU log as well as moving HJT to its own folder.

Please perform another scan with Hijack This, and then post back with a copy of the Ewido log and the new HijackThis log and the BFU log txt.

Before we start working with your log, you are running Hijack This from a temporary location. If we leave it where it is, backups will not be saved so lets move the file to it's own folder in C:\Program Files.Remove your copy and download HijackThis. It will create a directory folder for you in C\Program files
