Is it possible to get rid of Googleads.g.doubleclick

Hello all, I am trying to find out if it is possible to eliminate a really annoying feature associated with Google? It seems that just about every time I do a search with Google and look through whatever pages Google comes up with, I have to click the back button two to ten times to get back to the original page I started from. If I right click on the back arrow it will show two to ten items with “googleads.g.doubleclick.net”. This problem seems to come up even if I use another search engine such as Bing. Could you possibly tell me what it is (virus, malware, or just annoying ) and please, how to get rid of it?

googleads.g.doubleclick.net is part of Google Ads and is controlled by a file called module.exe

Check you Start-Up see if it is starting with windows, stop it;

Start | Search

type in

msconfig, double click the results, go to Start-Up TAB, uncheck it if it is found, hit Apply, reboot.

Also do a search for a folder called tem, if found delete the folder.

Murf, thank you for the reply. I did not find any "Module.exe" in the Start | Search or in the MSCONFIG. I also did not find any folder called "tem".

It is part of Google Tracking, in IE try the following;

Tools | Tracking Information | Get Tracking protection list online | Add button |Stop Google Tracking

Now on Tools click delete browser history

Murf, it worked! It is so great to have a normal "BACK" button again. It really is amazing and scary how much, general processes do track and use. Thank you once again. Since my subscription to BitDefender has expired I will now proceed to follow CyberTech's suggestions and processes on protecting my system. Thank you.

Great, I use and recommend Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) it's free and does a great job. Anti-Virus and Malware protection in one.

Murf, I will give it a try. Should I uninstall BitDefender Total Security(expired), Malwarebytes, 456out, ATF-Clean, and GMER before installing MSE?

you only to install all antivirus programs before installing mse. Malwarebytes is okay to leave on your computer. Bitdefender total needs to be completely uninstall. I am not familiar with the others so IMO, go ahead and uninstall them. MSE and malwarebytes should provide enough protection. That is all I use.

what about the same issue on an IPad?
googleads.g.doubleclick.net constantly "pops up" while browsing on my IPad, and it takes several swipes to get back to the browse?
