In Add/Remove Programs, near the top there is a checkbox for "Show updates." Click that box to check it and the updates will show in the list.

still though checked the box didn't have the security updates just the hotfixes...

In the beginning of the Windows folder are all the uninstalls. You don't really see updates installed anywhwre anymore.

that means that they exist but r not shown or what?!!

did i get u right??!!!

If they are not in the beginning of the windows folder, if you do not have them in the add remove, then they must be gone.

I noticed in one of your previous threads you may have had to do a restore. (not sure did not read the thread) If you did the updates before doing a restore, then you lost them and you will have to start from scratch with the updates. .

If you are concerned about being updated, go to the windows update site and do an update. If nothing is updated, then your system should be okay.

Restore should not remove updates, Repair would.

And By Bythe Way ...yes I Did A Lot Of Restores Recently

Could Restoring My Machine To An Earlier Point Remove My Updates If I Did Them Before Restoring??!!!

If So This Is Scarry...i Will Think Alot Before Doing That Again....

Look in your c:\windows\$hf_mig$ folder. Are your updates listed there ? If so, then you can click each one>update>update and hopefully reinstall them.

omseif March 28th, 2006 07:24 PM

I Did And Get"failed To Find "update.inf File"

Does This Message Mean That I Need To Update Them Alllll Again??!!!!

Oh Pleeeeeeeeeeease!@!!!!!!!

A Security Update and a Hotfix are more or less the same thing. The exact definitions of both, as Microsoft uses the words, are on this Microsoft page.

omseif March 28th, 2006 07:31 PM

The Problem Is "i M Facing Problems With Validation"!!!

Microsoft Update Site Insists On Validating My Windows And It Seems That I Failed The Validation Somehow...can I Still Get The Updates??!!!i M Checking Install The Updates Automatically In The Security Center...control Panel...by The Way..so Don't Tell Me Do That Coz I Ve Already Done It...

I M Just Afraid That Without These Security Updates My System Will Be Vulnerable To Another Dreadful Crash As A Result Of The Endless Malwares Out There....oh They R Like Hell...u Know What I Mean.......

Please Help...

No you need to own a legitimate copy of Windows to do that.. People who work for a living, have a right to be paid if they work in software also.
