Ok. inquiring minds want to know, or at least I do...
What in the world in Yorkshire Pudding? and how can pudding be crisping? |
Yorkshire pudding is a batter mix cooked in a hot oven. Served before the main meal (so you do eat so much) with gravy.
I think I could handle a couple of those things with no worries at all...:) |
Serve it with the main course. It's more traditional and far more enjoyable.
Would anyone like Beanie's "Yorkshire Pwding Mawr" recipe? |

It was traditional to have it before the main meal but generally these days it is part of the roast dinner.
http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/h...ast_beef_1.jpg The batter is similar to a pankake batter, although not sweet. Also it can still be used in a similar way. I had a friend who used to eat Yorkshires with golden syrup. They can be made in different ways. The single roundish versions, a flatish dish or now as wraps :D http://www.google.co.uk/images?um=1&...=yorks&gs_rfai= Notice the giant ones that contain the rest of the meal and also Toad-In-The-Hole ;) |
I've never known it being a tradition to eat before the main meal, we've always had it with roast beef. :)
|
Probably because you're not from Yorkshire Dave ;) :p

Erratum, Should have read. Served before the main meal (so you do not eat so much) with gravy. Sorry about that...
