Windows 2000 Network Setup
Hi.
I run Windows 2000 Professional on my laptop. I've started working for a computer business, which involves me spending a lot of time at our clients' sites, plugged into their networks. Each time I turn up and plug in, I need to reconfigure my TCP/IP settings, and again when I get home. I know about DHCP, but most of these sites run static IP addresses. It would be too big a job to go round and change them all. Is there a way I can simply save my network settings for each site seperately, and switch quickly between them? I've used various operating systems for a good while, but am new to Windows administration. Basically I need to change my IP address, default gateway & preferred DNS server, then stop and restart my LAN card. Could I do this with a batch file? I'd be grateful for any help you can give me... Thanks Michael Nelson |
