Computer wont boot WJ IXD is compressed press ctr-alt-dlt to restart

My sons computer suddenly wont boot. It has been happily running windows 7 since its release. Can not even boot in to safe mode. I have loaded the windows 7 disk and tried recovery, system restore and chkdk from the recovery options but its not working. I have scoured the net and can not find an answer. Can any one help? Thanks

EDIT - now fixed

For future reference the main C: had the "compress this drive to save space" option ticked, brought the drive up during bootup by pressing F8, clicked properties unchecked the compress drive option and rebooted, works!
