Exclamation Back to square one

Hi Kage

me again, I'm afraid - after doing an online update of SuSE and rebooting, I can no longer get online. Sigh ... I tried the same commands again. This time <ifconfig eth0 up> worked fine but <dhcpcd eth0> produced the reply that DHCP was already running. But I still can't get online. The dmesg output is:

Code:
eth0: VIA Rhine II at 0x1dc00, 00:0c:6e:5b:e7:4f, IRQ 11.
eth0: MII PHY found at address 1, status 0x786d advertising 05e1 Link 41e1.
eth0: link up, 100Mbps, full-duplex, lpa 0x41E1
eth0: no IPv6 routers present

martian source 255.255.255.255 from 192.168.178.1, on dev eth0
eth0: no IPv6 routers present
Now, of course, the final output - no router present - suggests it ain't connected to the router. Well, it is - I've changed nothing since this afternoon when I was online. Furthermore, I can reach the configuration interface of the router itself, so the computer is communicating with the router down the hallway. I just can't get any further than the router ...

Sorry to be so hopeless. I'm confused as to why this ain't working.

Thanks for any further advice.

Norm
