Will this work?

My computer is a HP Pavilion a620n running Windows XP Pro
My Main Circuit Board has a clock Bus Clock: speed of 200 megahertz.
I have a VIA/S3G UniChrome IGP [Display adapter]

Would like to upgrade to Windows 8 but am unsure if my computer can handle it. Would like opinions if it could or not. Thank You.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Microsoft will usually provide advice, discussion, and an 'upgrade assistant' as a download to check your computer for compatibility in switching to a newer OS. I used the Windows 7 Upgrade Assistant to test my Dell VISTA laptop. Check Windows 8 Upgrade for more information - good luck!

As giradman indicated use the tool, I don't think you will find a graphics driver, Windows 7 driver may work.

Looking at the specs of that system, if stock it only support up to 2GB memory. Windows 7/8 will run but will be slow. I believe it has this motherboard:

To check whether specific hardware components will work with Windows 8, go to the Windows Compatibility Center, enter the information about the component in question in the Search box.

Unless you have a really good reason to upgrade I wouldnt on that old of a machine. Windows 8 will end up taking up a lot of your computers resources to run and any intensive programs will be intollerably slow.
