Linux Multiple Boot Options
I have recently installed a a new 1TB SSD drive and installed Ubuntu. The drive was refurbished and to my surprise came with W10 pre installed.
I now have a dual boot option for either Ubuntu or W10 on the SSD. I have W7 installed on a separate hard drive and would like, if possible, to add that to my Ubuntu boot options rather than having to keep pressing F12 to access the boot menu on on my ACER Any help much appreciated. |

You will need to edit your boot loader, for example if you are using GRUB as your boot loader you should take a look at https://www.howtogeek.com/196655/how...ders-settings/
If you use a different boot loader a simple Google search will help you find the appropriate details. |

Are you sure your drive was really new and not refurb or recycled?
Note: I bought my laptop second hand at a repair shop that is also the IT dep't for nice sized company, and the laptop had been one of theirs. I know that because a lot of data survived what I was told was a clean install of Win 10. Maybe it was only an update and not a clean install, but I suggest you be on the lookout for anything else on the drive that is kind of unexpected, ie porn or credit info that might have been put there by an original owner or any malware so you can get rid of it. Thanks for the reply my definition of "new2 was new to me the drive was in fact refurbished by a Microsoft approved refurbishment dealer and looks to have come from a Dell machine.
I checked the drive on installation and it was clean of any nasties as far as I could tell and so far I have not had any issues. |
