Help with howto disable demand dial idle timeout??
Hi there and I hope you can help,
last night i set up my 2k3 server to use rras to perform nat to 3 clients. Everything is fine except that ....i dont want a demand dial interface! I pay a fixed price for my isp and want my server to connect automatically or manually.....as long as the connection stays live. i want any of the 3 clients to have instant access to the web. What i am finding is that the server drops the internet connection when it or the clients have been idle for a few minutes. i have tried changing the connection timeout in the registry but no difference. i know its not a modem setting as if use a normal dun connection on the 2oo3 machine.......with the same modem.....the connection stays live! ideally i want to set up nat for the clients with no timeout....or even better would be NO DEMAND DIAL when i create the rras nat configuration i seem to be forced to use demand dial! any ideas any1????? please help, im about 4 hours short on sleep already today......dont want tonight to be the same please give some ideas.....hating demand dial!
