Pink Screen - not malware or other virus

Hi,

My wife's laptop (HP Pavilion dv6000) running XP has been experiencing an intermittent pink hue to the screen. There are variations to the depth and then it will go away. I was over in the Malware support area and they have ruled out anything in that realm.

I have read there is a ribbon under the keyboard that is very delicate and can be a cause. Just wanted to check with you before we take it somewhere for an "exploratory" - Thanks-

Hi,

A pink tinge - I've also noticed a greenish tint - is usually an indication of a failing monitor.

Hopefully it's still under warranty. If not, a visit to your local PC store for a better diagnosis like you said.
