Have to keep resetting my router

I have a DSL modem and a "b" linksys router that I have to reset at least 4 or 5 times a week, maybe more.

wireless speed not so good on tablet or laptops.

I have a "g" linksys router still in the shrink wrap.

I have been thinking about buying THIS ROUTER

My questions are, Will the "g" linksys be a good enough ( if any) improvement on speed and resets or should I go for the Asus ...

Or ... is there yet a better choice.

thanks!

Each one will be an exponential improvement over the other.
The G router will give you much better range and speed over the old "b" and the Asus "N" will give you better again (depending on the wi-fi class supported by your devices - most new tablets and laptops will support G and N).

Thanks for the reply. The N it will be then .. Am I on the right track with Asus model? Or is there a more reliable model I should look into. Less concerned about cost than reliability

Do you think it will also help with less resets?

thanks again

as far as the resets, it most likely will solved the problem BUT it all depends upon the reason for the resets.

Thanks again for input.

I've always built my own PCs but I'll tell ya, networking is not my long suit.

Here's where I'm at now and recommendations are GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Either of these. The extra 40 buck or so for the AC66U is not an issue. This router advertises 256m ram, I didn't see what the RT router has. But, I don't have any fancy computers, but I sure to have plenty of activity all at once.

I have an old modem that has never failed from the phone co. DSL So, I don't know if that's a speed issue .. I'm guessing not.
Anyway, 2 or 3 wireless laptops ... and Ipod, an Asus tablet, 2 wired PCs,

Any number of these could be going at the same time.

But I don't know about the N standard or the AC standard .. I only want to get the most reliable for the things in our house.

Asus RT-AC66U $188

Asus RT-N66u $148

OR ... who knows .... anything you recommend better than these!

What do you guys recommend for me? Reliability, ease of setup (cause I am network terminology challenged )

I'll order as soon as I can figure out the best most reliable bet for me.

thanks so much!

joe
