Recieved this error

I went to install the new version of Audacity-win-2.0 and received the following message:

ShellExecuteEx failed; code 164
No more threads can be created in the system.

What does that mean?

Thanks
kuzzz

I dont know what Code 164 is. Do you have problems installing other software kuzzz? If not, it is most likely a compatibility issue with the Audacity software.

I haven't tried to install anything else lately. The Audacity is compatible with all windows. What bothered me is the part about no more threads can be created in this system. It sounds like I wouldn't be able to add anything. I guess I'll try finding the code through microsoft.

Thanks for responding

after I left you the repy above I went to open a zip folder and received this:

C:\Users\Dodi\AppData\Local\Temp\7z085F8.tmp\MSWin Err_Setup.exe
No more threads can be created in the system.

So it must not be the audacity software. What would make windows not allow threads to be created? This is a new one on me.

Thanks
kuzzz

According to MS Answers, you have software installed that is misbehaving. See here.

Try clean booting (see here, Step 1: Perform a clean boot). Dont troubleshoot it yet and make sure you dont download anything or surf to dodgy sites while you are running in this state because your antivirus will be disabled.

Try to install Audacity now. Do you still get the same error?

when i rebooted my pc i received this during startup: RunDll error loading
c:\windows\system32\config\systemprofile\appdata\r oaming\applecomputer\applecomputer\hmlxkn.dll
access denied

and then when the system was all the way up i opened my task manager and my cpu stays at 100%

i was able to install audacity though without any problem.
