You will need to be more specific. Where exactly are you seeing this? Got a link?

Just looks like part of the model number to me.

Yes, but what does it denote

Someone wants a screen that ends in L02 - mine (for sale) ends in L01

Would it suit ?

I have no idea. Ask the manufacturer.

It could mean it came with European power cord instead of one for Japan. It could mean it was sold by Sams instead of Best Buy.

All I can tell you is there is no "industry standard" technical meaning for it.

AFAIK, the L01 designation means it was manufactured the first week of December, L02 the second week of December.

I guess you need to find a unit manufactured in the 3rd week of October (J3) or fourth in February (B4) to test that theory.

Either way, if true, I don't see why that would matter to a buyer.

Same screens (15.4 WXGA, blah blah) but the L01 is matte and the L02 is glossy.

I still liked my mfg. dates better

LOL It sounded good but I had my doubts because there was no "year" of manufacture designation.

How did you determine that? I ask because this shows LO2 in both matte and glossy.

I generally prefer glossy but a lot of people hate it.

I agree with Digger that it's just part of the model number. Though sometimes the Chinese LCD panel sellers on eBay tend to know a little bit more about such stuff. But you do not want to buy anything different from what the nomenclature on the back of your LCD panel says. Including the revision number.
