Problem With USB Drive Sticks
Hi there. I tried to burn a Linux ISO file onto a USB drive stick, and the stick showed (after reformatting it) "The disk is write protected", so could not burn the ISO onto it. So I tried this again with another USB drive stick, and got the same result. I was hoping to add Ubuntu to my laptop, is there any easy way of fixing the 2 USB drives?

Hi Dave,
After making sure there is no physical lock switch on the drives then take a look here (for Windows) https://www.iseepassword.com/blog/ho...b-flash-drive/ |

Thanks John, I have just tried going the Diskpart method, but that hasn't worked. As for the first method shown, there's nothing showing to make any changes that it's stating. As for the registry option, I'm a bit weary about trying anything that way, especially since the Diskpart method didn't work.

Thanks for the link Murf, I will download I had used that and will give it a go. A few years ago had used Mini Tool Partition Wizard, and liked that one. I guess the USB sticks cannot be repaired, so have ordered a couple of replacements.
