Hi. When I try to run any executable file, I see this picture. Google tells me that this is some sort of an infection, but how to cure it when I can't install anything?? Thank You folks

I Googled NSDeluxeDownloader.exe and it tells me it's part of Norton Security Deluxe.

Are you using Norton Security Deluxe? Have you run a virus scan on your computer?

My answer to your question again was: Yes it was installed momentarily, and then removed. No not installed any longer...but I still see this

It was there for a sec, then removed. Removed with uninstall program.. What a confusing answer.
Now that you clarified it: Yes it was installed momentarily, and then removed. No not installed any longer...but I still see this (-much better answer don't you think) Now We understand. IPR512 is trying to help, getting testy by saying; Is there something wrong with you?? Is not the way to get help. It appears all of Norton was not removed. Use the Norton tool to ensure it is completely uninstalled. https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/dow...-removal-tool/ See if that fixes it. If it doesn't then somehow your registry has changed. 1. Press Windows Key + X to open Win+X menu and select Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu. 2. When Command Prompt starts, simply enter regedit and press Enter.
1. Press Windows key+ R to open Run command. 2.Type services.msc and press Enter. 3. Search for Windows Installer and if it is stopped, right click on it and click on Start. |

Thanks Murf, you nailed it. I decided to walk away from this one, because of the nasty remark by the original poster. People who get free help should be a lot more humble.

Hi, actually it is a trojan that disables security utils (such as Norton) MalwareBytes rootkit remover nails it. Download and run. Removing Norton is a good idea, you are better served using the free, built in windows defender and windows firewall.
