Disabling Google Play Updates.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5, and almost every week the Google Play app updates itself. I was wondering IF there's any way of disabling the frequent updates? Before this phone I had a Galaxy S2, which had a feature to disable Google Play updating itself, but I can't find the same in the S5.

Tap on the Play Store APP.
Now tap the slide-out menu button in the upper left corner, as denoted by 3 horizontal lines, then tap Settings

On the settings screen you will be able to choose whether you want to allow apps to automatically receive updates over WiFi, whether you want apps to update at any time, or whether you want to manually install updates.

You can turn-off auto updates altogether by tapping Do not Auto-Update Apps.

BTW: I have the S5 and love it.

Thanks Murf, I like the S5 too, much better than the S2 that I had before this one.
I apologize for my first post here, it may have been misleading. I have the Auto Updates turned off, but it doesn't turn off the actual Google Play app, and if possible that's what I'd like to turn off.

Disable apps that came with your device
  1. Open your device's Settings app .
  2. Tap Apps & notifications.
  3. Tap the app you want to disable. If you don't see it, first tap See all apps or App info.
  4. Tap Disable.
Remove an account from your device
  1. Open your device's Settings app .
  2. Under "Personal," tap Accounts.
  3. Tap the account you want to remove. ...
  4. Tap More Remove account.
  5. If this is the only Google Account on the device, you'll need to enter your device's pattern, PIN, or password for security.

or they crash because the out of date apps do not play well with the latest security or android update.
