Shortcut preferences

Im not sure but i think most people here know of a tweak where you place -nohome into a shortcut in IE (or firefox) and it makes the startup much faster.
I was just wondering if there are any others, such as forcing a program to run in a window maybe?

many programs have their own command line switches.
You would have to check the documentation of each program.
