video card purchase

i need a little advice.
Would it be better to get 1 8800 pci-x or 2 7900 pci-x SLI

the cost of what i am looking at will be about the same im just not sure if 2 is better than 1.

Get the 1. Easier to upgrade in the future.

But is this 2 7900GTX's, GTS, GS? And a 8800GS or GTX?

well with just the one you will have more video ram then with both of the others together, but do you plan on running vista? because it may not be an issue, but the one doesnt say vista ready.

looking at both of these on newegg, people seem overall more pleased with the GeForce 8800GTS, it also runs dx 10 versus 9 with 7950 gt. the 7950 is 180, so for a total of $360, you will get way more bang for your buck for that extra $40 with the 8800, another 140 mb of ram, and its 320 bit versus 256. also, l337 made a good point, easier to upgrade, i would check the dimentions of the card with your mobo first because it is quite large.

i would definately reccomend the 8800
