Just the usual wireless headaches - Wireless card detected and works but can't connect to my secure LAN (WEP fails - documented problem with the driver included in Ubuntu and there is something Ubuntu is doing that is causing the updated driver to fail). If I open up my router it's fine.

edit** changing from a shared WEP key to OPEN WEP key works, so I'm getting there (posting this wirelessly)

Converted my son to Ubuntu with Beryl - a good test of the system requirements, I felt.
Duron @700Mhz
384MB PC133 RAM
64MB GF2MX400 PCI Video card.
Wireless

Beryl runs reasonably smoothly so far, haven't turned on mipmapping yet though.

Agi - that background from Joe looks like it could be one of Ryan's from www.digitalblasphemy.com

Bloodlust, that 3d desktop (doesn't have to be a cube, can have up to 16 faces - I prefer a Pentagon) is acheived using Beryl.
See screenshot below.

I believe it came from http://www.deviantart.com in the wallpapers section. I can't remember the specific category and unfortunately I no longer have the image.

hi all...just discovered your fine board. been scouring the linux thread for the last few hours. time flies when you're absorbing knowledge. lots of good stuff i haven't seen elsewhere. thanks to all very much.
i do love screenshot threads so here is my offering. i'm running mandriva one 2008 with dual-monitors. i also love to explore other distros with virtualbox. i have over 22 virtual guests in virtualbox. this is actually 2007.1 as i haven't had time yet to shoot all the distros since upgrading. i do hope it entertains y'all for a minute or 2.

Welcome to CTH, cybormoron.

Wow, all those distros. Cool! I gotta say - your screenshot on page 2 of Ubuntu 7.04 - the guys around here will like that one, LOL. I like it for the match to the Win symbol!

It's been a while since I have taken a screen cap. Here are two screen caps. I switch between the two wallpapers. I have a thing for sail boats.
