Computer rebooting at random

Having trouble with my computer. It keeps rebooting at times when im installing a game, or running Krasperksy. So basically anything other then just surfing online. It stays on for a little over 20-30mins then just shuts down. I went to control panel > system > advanced > startup and recovery > uncheck automatically restart but it didnt make a blue screen appear, just shutdown totally still.

Components-

Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 Allendale 1.8GHz 2M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor

GIGABYTE GA-965G-DS3 LGA 775 Intel G965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

Patriot eXtreme Performance 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory - Retail

Western Digital Caviar SE WD2000JS 200GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

Easytune 5 came with the Motherboard and when I ran it it showed this.

I have no idea what that ! is for.

CPU fan seems to be spinning quite slow. Check that it is free of dust and mounted correctly.

What is the model name and number of your PSU?

PSU came with the case,

Model number is LC-A420ATX 12V
Cyberlink Switching Power supply.

The fan is free of any dust, and I believe it's mounted right. The Intel logo is readable looking at the computer when it's standing up, and the power cords coming out of it are coming out of the bottom right.

Download CoreTemp, Open it up and do the things you usually do when it shuts down. When it shutsdown, Turn it back on and go to where CoreTemp was extracted (where the .exe is located). In there, will be a file named Temp Log. Open it up, Scroll right down to the bottem and paste the last 10 lines (inc the "session end" part.

What it does is logs the Core temperature of your CPU while it is open. So it will keep logging the temperature until the PC shuts down again, So you can determine what the temperature was right when it shutdown - This is to eliminate that CPU overheating is the issue.

Thats quite high, Reaching 55C at the core. The motherboard usually detects it higher than that, So I wouldn't be surprised if its set to shutdown at 60C.

I would look into sorting out your CPU fan, because it is obviously not spinning as fast as it should be - May be a new one is what you need, Especially if its clean. Or just get it returned if its still under warranty.

Just got off the phone with Intel tech support. According to the guy, who had a rather thick accent so I had to have him repeat stuff a lot, the processor is able to go up to 65-70C, anything under that is perfectly fine.

Im thinking it's my PSU on the fritz or something maybe? It's the PSU that came with the case, 420Watt. Friend has the same case/PSU and his seems fine but maybe I got a trash one. When my computer reboots itself im not getting any error messages of any kind.

Replace it for a decent branded one. Such as Antec, Enermax, OCZ, Thermaltake, Sparkle.

Software would cause an error, BSOD or otherwise. I wouldn't waste your time reinstalling windows, but it's up to you.

That's Celsius I "believe". I really think it's getting a wrong reading though. The CPU doesnt seem that hot at all. I ran City of Heroes on full blast, which got that heat result and then opened my case right after. Putting my hand down by the CPU I didnt feel any heat what so ever radiating off of it. Im kind of stumped. I got a RMA from Newegg to send back the CPU, so going to call Intel Monday and ask them why exactly it would be reading that.
