HELP! win xp crashes to desktop when playing games
my computer always crashes to the desktop whenever i play games. My internet browser crashes alot too. My motherboard is and nforce board and i used driver cleaner 2 to get rid of all the old drivers (det 52.16) when i installed my new video card ( ati 9600 pro with cat 3.10 drivers). could this be a virus? Norton anti virus comes up with nothing but i did have welchia and blaster worms on here before. any suggestions?

tell about your computer, ram, harddrive size/space available. Did this just start or was it this way from the start. Give examples of games you are playing when they crash.

First please get Spybot S&D to clear out most of the spyware.
Short tutorial and download link here: http://tomcoyote.org/SPYBOT/ Fix everything SpybotSD labels in red. Then after reboot: Download 'Hijack This!'. http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/ Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan". When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button. Press that, save the log, load it in Notepad, and copy its contents here. Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet. |
