Hi Acidkitty, it sounds as though you may have an issue with spyware. Have you recently used a spyware removal utility? If so, which one please.

Lets see what is running on your PC. Go here and download the latest version of Hijack This. Unzip it and click on scan. Most of the files listed will be harmless and/or required so do not make any changes, just click on Save Log, copy it and post it back in this thread.

HI Acidkitty, we will have to edit your registry. If you havent done this before, dont worry you will be fine just so long as you follow my instructions carefully and dont improvise. Back up your registry before making any changes. The easiest way to do this is to select the entry that you are going to delete with your mouse and go to File and choose Export. Call it any name that you like (selected branch should be pre-selected) and then send it to a New Folder on your Desktop as a reg file. If you have no further problems, rightclick on the New Folder and delete it. Do NOT doubleclick on a .reg file unless you want to put it back in your Registry.

Go to Start > Run and type:

regedt32

and OK. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run. Open the Run key and look in the righthand pane for the below values and delete them.

vp0ÓÈÜÅè
vp0ÓÈGJÓÈÜÅè

Close your registry editor and reboot. Make sure that the below files/folders have been deleted and then post a new log.

C:\Program Files\ISTsvc
C:\WINNT\yxyewxx.exe

Question backing up registry

Hello Again! I have a couple of questions before I do what you asked. I understood all of your instructions but I have one question which may sound silly but I'll ask it anyway...Where am I going, to select the entry to be deleted? If I have to go into the registry I have no idea how?!?!?

Thank you for your help in advanced! You've been great!

When you get to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run, doublelclick on the Run key to open it and look in the righthand pane. Can you see those values now?

Export the key please Acidkitty. To do this, go to Start > Run and type:

regedt32

and OK. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run. Next go to File and choose Export. Call it any name that you like (selected branch should be pre-selected) and then send it to your Desktop as a text file and post the information here.
