I have downloaded a film with the file ext. avi but it wonīt play on the windows media player. The player is saying that it needs a codec. I want to copy the film to be able to play it on my TV. Does that mean that any time I download anything with this file extension I wonīt be able to play it? I am rather new to this side of computing, can anyone help me to understand what I am doing? PLEASE

We COULD tell you what you need to do, but that would be aiding and abetting. Please read our terms of use. Just because it's "available" on the internet, doesn't make it legal. |

That's OK.
Sometimes, when you're new to a fast internet connection, it's hard not to get caught up in the "look at all this stuff I can get for free" bandwagon. The saying "too good to be true" normally applies. If it sounds too cheap (i.e. free), it's probably not legit. |
