No mouse will work
Here's the quick and short of it.
Computer was fine...wife downloads some crap she wants to print on her computer and goes to the bosses to print it. She sticks in the jump drive, and the mouse stops working. It was one of those retarded trackball mice. Since then, we cannot get the computer to use or recognize any mouse, ps2, serial, usb, etc. There is no mouse in device manager. The jump drive contained no viruses. I have scanned it with everything I can find. Any ideas? |

Dead USB card =(. Also appears integrated Network adapter died too. Ever heard of that happening after plugging in a USB device.
A PS2 mouse will work, I placed a USB/PS2 adapter on the mouse and it worked. Wouldn't work the first time, the second reboot I shut down the PC and let left it for 20 seconds. The serial mouse and ps2 will work now. The USB PCI card will not detect any devices. Getting a new one, apparently going to be replacing network adapter too. |
