drug testing

Just found this article, not sure how true it is but supposely they can test anything you touch and find out if you are on drugs. Cannot find anything else about it ... Wonder how it works with shared keyboards at the job.

It's crap.

True, THC from Grass stays in the system.

But tests for Cocaine and Heroine are indirect tests.
You get a positive just say "Oh yeah, I took a Panadine Forte for a Migrane yesterday."

Anyway, studies have shown that tired workers are more dangerous than stoned workers...

The drug testing isn't what it should be. They test people to work at Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Lowes and other non professional jobs. The problem that I have with it is that I personally know prople that work as Nurses, Respitory and other professionals who are doing pain killers and smoking marijuana before going to the hospitals to work. They don't even get tested! These are the people who you trust with your life while you are probably in the worse shape of your life. They have to re-think the tests and apply them first to the so called professionals who are abusing them. Just one opinion!

Seriously,

I had to pee in a cup a few years ago. They were testing for opiates,
cocaine, and methamphetamines. We found two people who tested
positive. It would have been easy to find out who was saturated without
the test because when they asked us to be tested those were the
only two people who were running around to everyone else complaining
that it was an infringement on their privacy.

I think people who aren't saturated don't care if they are tested, at least
I didn't care one way or another if I was tested.

So instead of testing employees just tell them you are going to test them
and whom ever starts talking about "rights" has a high possibility of being
a druggie.

Not always true - I would not say high possibility - I would say there is a possibility.

Not True At All Spider.

In my work we can get random tested at any time.

Problem is that we live at work. Remote locations. We have very little - no privacy then they think (some operators) that they can just walk into our rooms - search them - and run drug tests.

Prisoners get treated better.

Last time I got tested I arced up because they wanted to send the results to "My Boss". I asked who they thought that was and they said the Site Manager.

Problem is, he was NOT my boss.

So I insisted that the results should be sent to my (real) boss only - and the Site Manager could request them from him.

They were not happy - but it reminded them I had rights AND people actually said "Please" and "Thank You" to me for the next week!

Also, in the state where I live - marijuana possession is less serious than a speeding fine. You may grow it for personal use for approx US$75 on the spot fine - no criminal conviction.

So drug testing workers for marijuana is a VERY contentious issue.

I don't indulge BTW.
