Power supply fans not spinning
i dont know if its just me and the thing runs fine or if there really is a problem. i just bought a new sonata case by Antec and its pretty nice, had this annoying AGVA or something in it, basically a duct that had the effect of pumping all the cool air right out of my computer before it circulated.
also has what i have determined is a fan plug coming out of the power supply. i plugged it into the motherboard, but the thing still doesnt spin. maybe it isnt hot enough for the motherboard to start it up, but my temp monitor i have on my hdd, which also reads the case temp, says its like 81 in there. i'm not sure if thats hot or normal, but i vaguely remember reading something about 90 degrees being the start of doing damage to things. the manuel which is not exactly detailed, says the slowest it should spin is about 900 rpms. i havent checked to see if the interal power supply fan runs while the computer is on, but i know the external one doesnt.
i'm frustrated and less than thrilled at having to deal with this after ending up buying an entirely new computer just because of a hdd issue (its best not to ask about it...). any advice would be wonderful, even if its just the temperature that computers usually run at. thanks
