Error message after boot
If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it. I've tried almost everything and nothing seems to work. All the sudden after disconnecting from the internet everything froze. I had open Word programs minimized on my screen. I tried ctrl+alt+delete
>but that didn't do anything, so I just turned my computer off. When I turned it back on it went to a screen where I was given 4 options an d an error message: >Microsoft Windows Millennium Startup Menu >1. normal >2. logged(\bootlog.txt) >3. safe mode >4. step-by-step confirmation. >Windows has detected a registry/configuration error. Use scanreg to fix. I tried opening it up in safe mode, but I didn't get any icons to appear on the desktop..nothing happened. >Every help site says to use the start up disk to start the computer, but I dont have one. They also say open a MS-DOS prompt, but how can I do that if I can't even get to the desktop, where the Start Menu is located? I am not very computer-savvy, so I would appreciated very detailed suggestions or instructions. Thanks |

Windows ME Boot Disk
Get the OEM version. Make sure you have a formatted floppy in the A: drive before running the .exe you will download. Some info about scanreg |
