Java not working

I tried to go to a gaming site that I usually play at and when I went to load it a message box popped up.

Install On Demand (other)
To dislay this page correctly,you
need to download and install the following components:
Java Vitual Machine

I then clicked the download box and it took me to the microsoft site and I got this message:
We're sorry, you cannot view this page because it requires the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine (MSJVM). Your machine does not have the MSJVM installed. For more information please visit www.microsoft.com/java.

So I followed the link

I then installed Sun Microsytems Java Runtime Environment

I still get the first message box and can't use java.

I am confused

go to tools - internet options - advanced - scroll down and make sure Microsoft vm is selected. You may have to unselect Sun Java. Restart browser.

Hi sueB70,
You could give Microsoft Java Virtual Machine Build 3810 a try to see if it helps with your gaming sites.

Thank you both for your advice. I tried some things and still nothing so I went to the pogo help site and it suggested to uninstall Sun Java then reinstall it. I unistalled it and I remembered something.

I had used a spyware program and deleted alot of stuff and I think wildtangent was on the list. Could I have deleted my microsft java machine and thats why I'm having this problem?

If you deleted microsoft jm and if you followed the advise of the second poster, you should have it back. If you reinstalled it and the selections I suggested were made, then it should work, if it is still not working, then you need to post the exact error message. Also are you behind a firewall and/or router?

I didn't reinstall the Sun Java Runtime Enviroment .
I went to JVM build 3810 and did that and still nothing.
I'm no longer getting the Install on demand message but I do get this one:

The following error has occurred:
Java Not Found or Not Working
Explanation:
You must have Java installed on your computer in order to run Pogo games, and it must be functioning properly. This error means you either don't have Java installed yet, or your Java is not working correctly.

When I went to a Java Testing site nothing worked and it couldn't even detect a java machine.

I don't think I'm behind a firewall and I don't use a router

I was reading some other threads and tried downloading the MJVM from
http://www.abxair.com/software/downloads.htm and it worked.

Thank you for your help, this website is the best.
