ID Vault Hardware

Has anybody used ID Vault by www.guardid.com?.
It is a USB key with propraietary software on it.

How is it different from just putting your password manager on any USB key?.

I do not use it but from reading the description, in some ways it would be more secured than just any old usb drive since it has its own built in security but there are other usb drives out there that is just as secured.

Also depending upon the password manager you use, it may be no better.

My own thoughts run along the same lines. I now have my RoboFormToGo on an USB drive which I can easily password protect and encrypt with software I have. Also, a number of financial sites I visit will not accept a password that they sense is on your computer - you have to copy and paste and enter manually. Some require an ID first, than a picture recognition, then a password. Again cannot be done automatically. You can also be presented with one of three personal questions the answer to which is known to the site, like name of your firs girlfriend?. I cannot see ID Vault handling all that, but maybe I am wrong.

Seems to me if you want security you have to put some work into it.

Thanks for your comment.
