Cool Xp question

Ok, since i have just downloaded windows xp professional on my windows xp home edition computer, when i turn on the computer it gives me a option of selecting pro or home edition. My question is how can i just go to one window when i turn on my computer? oh and the window i want to go into is the professional one.

under system startup it will say default operating system

ok

First make sure you are actually looking at the properties of MY COMPUTER not of a shortcut to MY COMPUTER
when it prompts you in the beggining log onto to home and look for the advanced tab also if you are already in pro look around for a startup tab

This isn't really an upgrade. You just installed Windows XP Professional on a different partition or drive. Now you're running what's referred to as a dual boot. I had an issue similar to this when I installed another OS alongside Windows XP Pro. Do you want both operating systems residing on your hard-drive or do you only want Windows XP Pro?

For you to remove this screen, follow cancercitystar directions.

Press the Windows key on your keyboard and the Pause|Break key at the same time as a combination with one another. This will bring up the My Computer property box. Secondly, select the Advance Tab and click the Settup & Recovery button. Now you will be able to select which operating system loads by default. Just wanted to reitterate cancercitystar directions for you.

No, it will not. Selecting Windows XP Professional just means that when you start your computer this is the operating system that will automatically load by default. In order for you to remove Windows XP Home Edition, you'll have to manually uninstall it.
