Just saw this on the TV news, thought I'd pop in to give my best wishes to all those caught up in this. Take care and hope the place gets back to some normality soon, guess it will be months before all the major damage is fixed and much longer for all the rest.

Thoughts and prayers are with you.

No serious damage at my home, biggest headache at the moment is possible water contamination - having to boil drinking water, conserve water in toilets etc.

Aftershocks continuing to freak out the boss lady but otherwise we have coped really well.

Most of the photos of damage seem to over-dramatise it a bit - they are mostly of collapsed brick facades. There IS some serious damage (homes with broken back-bones) around but they don't make for dramatic photos.

It is going to take some time to get back to business as usual - roads & bridges and underground services we can't see.

Some of those red dots are much bigger than I prefer. Earthquakes really freak me out so I know where your lady is coming from. What about the kids???

Just saw the news at six. They reported 2648 after shocks since the main event. I think that would get on any ones nerves, what do you think?????
