Once you set it to default and it boots then go back and change the boot order.

I change the boot to HD first and then changed to Load Fail-Safe Default and rebooted. It went straight to the BSOD. I shut it down and changed back to CDROM first boot and rebooted with my recovery disc. It's attempting repairs now. I'll let you know what happens.

no windows 7 the BSOD said to run CHKDSK /F so I tried booting up in safe mode with comand prompt. I got into safe mode and press with comand prompt but all I got was a black screen. So I went back to safe mode and tried all the options with the same results. I don't know what to do everything I try seems to get the same results. I might buy a new HD and try that.thanks for all your help

In safe mode get into Device Manager, disable all hardware except the hard drive. Reboot, see if it does. BSOD generally is a driver or hardware problem.

Well, since you can boot with your rescue disk, on it does it give you an option to save files and reinstall? Or find a restore point?
If this does not work, open the case, disconnect the DVD, Floppy (if you have one) any other drive, just leaving the drive with windows on it. Also if you have a video card, take out the put back in to research it. Now try and boot. |
