XP update problems with IE
I updated XP pro to with SP2 after that every time I try and log into the Internet it tries to go to same http. OE doesn't work ether. I have run lavasoft's software but no luck. any ideas. Help I am cut off at home.

maybe you have some nasties. Post your hijackthis log per the instructions in this thread.

Wont you try this. Start, control panel, network and internet conections, network connection, and right click Local Area Connection, and choose enable it. Cuz probably your connection is disable and that is the reason why you cant connect to internet..

I have the network connection. Programs were accessing. Just not with IE or OE. I ran Ad-Aware SE, Regestery tool kit, Ace utilities but no luck. I found any time I did try a log on with IE or OE the web address was for "incredifind.com".
In addition to that looking through the windows folder I found a text file with a lot of information on unsupported hardware and soft ware not supported. So I guess I didn't do my home work well enough before installing SP2 I looks to me to be a whole new OS not just a patch. I ended up doing the uninstall and everthing work ok. I just had to relosd IE and OE. Thinks for the help bill |
