Hard drive replacement

Hey guys, I got a seagate hard drive for my Inspiron notebook and it came without any software so when i installed it then tried to reupload windows my computer didn't recognize any hard drive. I did a little research and downloaded the driver from seagate and it came as and ISO image. Now i downloaded winimage but don't know how to use it or where to go next.
Any sugg.

Is BIOS set to boot from the cd-rom first??

It has to be.. You should get a message that says something like "press any key to boot from cd" when you start the system with the XP cd in..

Are you using the Dell cd that came with the system??
