Exclamation WiFi issue
Since I have switched to Windows 11 my internet constantly loses connection. I have to reset network adapter and it will work for a while and disconnect again. I would hardwire it but it isnt really an option. I have an ASUS Rog router connected on the 2.4Ghz band because the 5 Ghz band is spotty. Its a pretty new card 2ish years old. Trying to figure out if it is a driver issue or something else. I dont believe it is Malware, I am pretty careful with browsing habits. Dont visit dodgy sites, download torrents, or click links in emails etc. I did have CCleaner on this computer for a few years but they have turned into adware so I uninstalled. Any suggestions where to start?

Hmmmmm I hate to sound stupid but check to make sure the connections are tight.. I know that happens to me alot...... My wires are not in good spots and often get loosend or pulled from the tower and I have to plug them back in........

It shouldnt loose connectivy on ya like that.....

is this a laptop or desktop? If laptop, did you go to the manufacturers website and installed the network drivers from there?

Pulled the card and reinstalled and still giving me grief

Its a tower, network card is an ASUS Wireless-AC PCI-E model PCE-AC51. Maybe they dont make cards like they used to.

Is this a new computer or have you upgraded your old one to Win 11? If a new computer do you have the option of making a warranty claim?

I upgraded to Windows 11. The tower was built in 2019 and I bought the WiFi card at the end of 2020. I believe I may have figured it out. I noticed it was mainly doing it when downloading a game update and I was idle or if I was away from the computer for a bit. So I decided to see if it was a power management issue. Sure enough, in device manager, network adapter properties, under power management tab the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" switch was checked. I am guessing that was a default for Windows 11 or it didnt carry over from the upgrade. So far so good today, appreciate yall kicking ideas around with me!
