Exclamation Ram failing memtest86

Okay firstly ignore anything in my sig my current specs are asus z87 pro i7 4770k cpu 780 gtx sc and most importantly 32 gig of corsair vengeance ram 1600mhz timings 9 9 9 24 I brought it in a kit of 4 8 gig sticks.
I get crazy amounts of errors running memtest.
Ive spent ages testing and all I can see is that alone the sticks are OK if down clocked to 1333mhz. And okay in pairs of two at 1600 but only if I change the timings to 10 10 10 27. I then tried at the other 16 gig but the errors came back. And I did update the bios. Also im running the katest memtest 5.0 beta since it said it added preliminary support fir has well cpus.
I just want to get 32 gig error free 1600mhz I can live with the slightly higher timings

Sorry for the mess this post is im tired snd typing it on a phone

pulsar, post your complete (and current) system specs.

that ram's stock speed is 1333, so the 1600 is the built in overclocking profile.
Are you running the ram in single or dual channel mode?

Since the xmp (overclocking profile) settings work with 16gigs but not 32, and the individual sticks work ok it may be that you need to adjust the ram voltage when trying to run all 4 sticks using the xmp settings. (just a thought, since I haven't looked through that mainboard manual yet.)

Okay system spec updated. It defaults to dual but i was running it in single channel when there was the one stick in and that still was failing at 1600.
And yes 1333 is what it defaults to the 1600 according to the manual counts as XMP profile. Anything higher it considers an overclock.
I tried the dram set to 1.65 with no luck though their may be other setting that needed adjusting i don't know about. I guess its possible that the xmp profile is just plain wrong.
I think its odd too that I can't run it in 1333 mode even with all 4 sticks. Well not even with two sticks as i had to change the timings to do that.

check the QVL from asus, I'm only seeing one listing for 32gigs of memory from corsair @ 1600mhz, and the timings are 10-10-10-27 (just like you posted earlier). Can you post the part # off the ram? It will look something similar to: CMZ32GX3M4X1600C10 (Ver2.2)(XMP)

While MemTest (all software based memory testers) may not detect all RAM errors, I have found if they report RAM is bad, it is bad. And just 1 error indicates bad.

If you are overclocking, stop, until this is resolved. Revert all motherboard settings and timings back to the defaults, then see what happens.

I agree with MaDef. Check the QVL. You don't have to buy listed RAM because there are just too many RAM makers and models out there for motherboard makers to test them all. But you MUST buy RAM with the same specs as listed RAM to ensure compatibility.

Sorry, missed your module # in the sig.

First, you're using a beta version of memtest, try using version 4.20 and see if the memory fails with the stable version.

second, adjust your ram timings manually via A.I tweaker (set them to the stock speed of the memory module, not the xmp profile since it is basically a factory overclock setting) and then run memtest.

If you still get errors either something is wrong with the modules (it happens), or that memory model just doesn't play well on that board. (it's not listed in the QVL).

Either way, if possible see if you can exchange them with modules listed on the QVL (and that will depend on when you bought them and the sellers return policy).

FYI: there's not that noticeable a difference between 1333 and 1600 speed outside of benchmarking.

Okay I'll give the memtest 4.2 a try I was just using the new one because I read the old one wasn't compatible with Haswell cpus.
Actually the timings with xmp default to the same as whats listed on the chips 9 9 9 24.
I see what you mean about the qvl not listing it though it seems to be identical to the one listed just has better timings which i already tried adjusting. I'm wondering if I need to adjust the tras etc timings which i know nothing about the only thing i adjusted was the 4 main timings 10 10 10 27 anything else xmp does im not sure.

Note Windows 8 includes an excellent memory diagnostic program too. Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Windows Memory Diagnostic.
