wireless connection

Hello there
I'm running windows XP home edition
Version 2002
Service pack 3

On a
Coby
NBPC1023
Intel Atom
CPU N450 @ 1.66GHz
1.67GHz. 0.99 GB of RAM

The issue I'm having is that some of the keys on the keyboard no longer work
One being the Fn key which is used while pressing f1 to turn on wireless connection
So id like to know if there is any other way to turn on my wireless connection
without using the Fn key? I use a wireless keyboard but it has no Fn key
Any help is, as always, greatly appreciated

Hi,

Try These Method..

1. Click on start and type " osk " hit enter and try using the On Screen Keyboard.
2. Click FN + your Wireless..

or....

Click the Start menu, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to Accessibility, and then click On-Screen Keyboard to open On-Screen Keyboard.

To return to your document, place your cursor where you want to begin.

To close On-Screen Keyboard, click Close.

or DOWNLOAD and INSTALL These softare..

Thanx again vahne2k,
But my problem is I can not "turn on" my wireless connection via the
"Fn" key as it does not work. Everything is enabled, devices working properly
I need to turn on my wireless (wifi) connection to connect to any "hot spot "
But left side of laptop keyboard doesn't work and standard keyboard does not have
The Fn key! Is there a manual command prompt I can use to turn on?
I get "wireless network not connected "

Click Start > Run and type in the following:

services.msc (hit<ok>)

You should see a list called Services (Local), click on the name parameter to have them sorted alphabetically

See if you can find one that says maybe Coby Event Service. If so double click and ensure that for Startup type it says "automatic", if it does not change it to "automatic" and click Apply, then be sure below that, that the Service Status says Started.

Now see if the Fn key works.

Hi Murf,
Unfortunately there is no Coby event service listed
But again my problem is that the laptop keyboard is broken and
Standard keyboards don't have the Fn key was wondering if maybe
There w as a command prompt that would turn on the wireless?

Look in Device manager My Computer | Properties | Hardware | Device Manager

Scroll down to Network Adapter, find your wireless adapter, right click and enable.

or download and install DevCon

Maybe a new keyboard, if you can find one some laptops not expensive and easy to install. Any other key's not working?

BTW: Glad you got it enabled.
