Drivers wiped out

I received/recycled an old work computer. It was working fine upon receipt, had network & internet capablilties, display settings were fine. We installed our own copy of Windows XP Pro operating system to be legal and all, which wiped out drivers. Monitor reverted to 800 x 600, with no other options available. Network connection was wiped out, unable to reestablish so have no internet access to download or look for updated drivers. I could copy needed drivers onto a portable hard drive but don't know what to download or where to go. Have spent many hours troubleshooting...

When I try to reestablish network connections, I get an error message that it "cannot find network hardware." Network, modem, cable, and all were working prior to installing the new Window OS. My best guess is that the drivers were wiped out. I have tried to copy drivers from another PC, exporting them via the DriverMax program. Because of the wacky display properties, not all of the option buttons (NEXT, for example) appear in the program, so have been unable to attempt to restore that way. Can you please help? Thanks.

What kind of computer is this, I suspect its a Dell or HP.
Go to their website, search for and download drivers to a cd.

It's a box computer, built by our former computer tech. I'll see if I can find the drivers via Dell or HP, but it truly is neither. Thanks for the tip.

Forget Dell or HP drivers, you need to get the Chipset, and many other drivers from where ever..
The right drivers will insure optimum performance.
I just figured business usually buys from HP or DELL.
