memory loss due to realplayer

Hi, I was warned of low memory today and closed down. I have been trying to get rid of programs using up memory. Realplayer stuff seems to use a lot, I tried uninstalling it but it's still there using memory. It's not something I'd miss but I cant get rid of it. Greatfull for any help.

Memory is not space left on your hard drive.

Low memory warning means the system memory or RAM is running low, not the space on the hard drive. Uninstalling programs only frees up space on the hard drive, has nothing to do with system RAM (Memory).

First lets look at how much Memory you really have:

Left click on the Start (lower left 4 flags) now click on "Control Panel"

In Control Panel click on "System"

You will see under System:

Processor
Installed Memory (RAM)

Post what you see.

memory

I couldent get rid of realplayer yesterday but today it's gone. Not in programs or task manager. I looked under System and it said 6Gb of ram.
When I was told Low Memory I looked at Task Manager and saw a few things using memory realplayer, spybot and I got rid of them. The Background Prossess vary between 52 and 66 I,m sure I don't need all them but don't know what to stop. I went on the site where the problem happened and looked at Task Manager while I was on Memory was at 52% CPU (no idea what that is) was between 75% and 99%.
The site is pogo games I can only get on with internet explorer because Edge cant do java. It,s not very stable since I donloaded windows 10 I get frozen out a lot and eventualy give up. Any of that give you an idea what the problem is?

6GB memory is plenty, should never run out. How about your hard drive space:

Right click on Start then to Disk Management

At the top it will show you your drives. Look at the C: drive under the Free Space post what you see:

C: Free Space %Free

Ctrl>Alt>Del

Open Task Manager

Click on the Performance TAB

Left Panel click on Memory

Right Pane at the top it shows how much memory you have

Same pane bottom will show the following:

In Use
Available
Committed
Cached

What are those figures

Also lets check if Windows is managing your Paging File:

1. Right Click Start then to Control Panel
2. Click on System & Security Settings
3. Click on the Option System
4. Click on Advance system settings
5. Click on Advance TAB then click on Settings
6. Under Virtual Memory what does it say to the amount
7. Click on Change
Is the box checked to Automatically manage paging file size for all drives?

info.

I think I've got the information you asked for.

Memory 2.4/5.9Gb (41%) In use 2.3Gb Available 3.5Gb
Committed 2.5/11.9Gb Cashed 3.2Gb Paged pool 477mb non paged pool 319mb.

Box ticked to Automatically manage paging file size for each drive.
Paging file size for each drive 6144mb
Minimum 16mb recommended 1657mb currently allocated 6144mb

Hope all that makes sense to you, I have no idea. I was surprised to get low memory warning, never had that before. It seems quite a few people have had memory/cpu problems after downloading windows 10. Thanks for your help.

Well that all seems normal, you have plenty of memory in that machine.

I would try the Windows Memory Scan:

Make sure everything is closed and you are at your desktop.

Tap the Windows Logo key on the keyboard and the [R] key

In the window type the following:

mdsched.exe

Hit OK button

Lets see if that fixes it.
Now select Restart Now and check for problems

The Memory Diag tool will run automatically when you restart Windows

memory

Hi Murf, ran the memory test thing it found no problems.
The shutdown due to low memory only happened the once maybe it was just a glitch and will be ok now.
On the whole I'm happy with windows 10 the only thing that bugs me I cant play poker on pogo having accumulated millions of tokens (worthless) but I enjoyed playing. I was told I could still play if I used internet explorer but it seems very unstable constantly freezing, I guess I'll have to find another pastime. Thanks for your help again.

OK, are you using Internet Explorer (Not EDGE) to try and play? Also just read this:

Pogo’s engineers have been working with preview versions of the new operating system to ascertain it’s compatibility with Pogo. The short answer is: Yes! Pogo is compatible with Windows 10. There are, however, a few considerations to take into account.

Windows 10 has an entirely new web browser named Edge. The Edge browser is Flash compatible and will work with a large variety of Pogo games. But, similar to the Chrome browser, Edge is not compatible with Java games. Fortunately, both Internet Explorer 11 and Firefox continue to support Java on the Windows 10 operating system. Windows 10 ships with Internet Explorer 11 and you can still install Firefox. Google Chrome can also be installed of course, but will only work with our Flash games.

pogo

Hi, yes I am using internet explorer to play pogo. Pogo uses adverts which you put up with to get free games. I have noticed that a full page add video pops up behind the game. It seems more intrusive than the usual pogo stuff and I get frozen out soon after. Am just wondering if it could be a bug. I only get it when i'm on pogo so might just be pogo. I never got it on windows 7.
