stay connected
here lately everytime i get on line i get kicked off as soon as i get connected so i have to connect again and after a short time without any notice i'm disconnected. i've had the same service for three years with no problems. i've added a new string that is suppose to keep me connected i got it from the manufacture of my modem. i contacted my service but as always they were really of no help at all. so if anyone knows of a tweak that may help me i would really appreciate the help.

try the simple stuff first. If it is a dialup service, check and make sure there are no cobwebs/dust inside of the case. Modem seated properly, wires are in good shape and plugged in properly. Make sure the wall socket is in good shape.

i'm sorry i forgot to mention i have a laptop not a desktop. and i use to have two phones connected together and i thought that may be the problem so i replaced them with one cord to lesson the noise but still the same results.
