Is this a problem?

I went to apply for a credit card online and when I clicked the submit button I got a message saying "Remote peer closed before all information could be read. I've never seen a message like this before. Has my computer been compromised?

Thanx, Jim

I just completed a scan with MBAM and ESET and nothing turned up.

without knowing the link you are using to get that credit card, there is absolutely no way to know if your computer has been compromise. In general, if you are using a valid and secure link, it could have timed out on their end. there is not much you can do about this other than try again or call their customer service.

and secure link
^^^ This! ^^^
Make sure your browser establishes a secure link (closed padlock symbol).

Also, make sure you go to the application via the card's issuing financial institution. For example, if this card was coming from The Bank of New Jersey, you go to https://www.bonj.net/ instead of clicking on some link you got in an unsolicited email.

Ah, OK. I'll check all that stuff next time. It's not something I got in an email, it's a site I was linked to in CreditKarma.com.

Thanx, Jim

I would not go through a third party to sign up for a credit card. I would go to the bank or business directly and fill out the application there.
