Windows -Drive is not ready (A)

I did search first, but I didn't found nothing on this problem. Here we go:
This is my son computer (Dell Dimension 8300). Every time when computer start, this message pop-up:
Windows - Drive not ready.
The drive is not ready for use; its door maybe open.
Please check drive A: and make sure that a disk is inserted and that the drive door is closed.
There is NO disk in that floppy drive and No door open. Can any1 please tell me what is wrong? Thanx for any help in advance.

Could be your floppy drive has died or your cable is bad. Another thing is, most Setup/BIOS's will allow you to turn off an option for windows to look for the floppy drive when it boots up. Usually, it's called "Boot floppy seek" or similar wording. If you go into Setup using the F2 key at start of computer, look for that option might be listed under this heading "Integrated Devices (Legacy Select Options)" and see if it gives you the option to not seek floppy drive when windows starts up.

Here is a suggestion ....or two

one change the boot sequence in the bios to
hard drive first

with the demension it is the F2 to get to the bios on boot
then navigate to boot order and use your up and down and + - keys to change it

2 make sure that there is no floppy in it

failing that replace the drive or check the cable

Mr. Peterson, could you please remove the advertising in your signature. This is not allowed in CTH, as per the TOA you read when you joined.

Thanx guys for your help. I didn't had any chance to check BIOS. I'm about 20 miles far from my son machine. I'll post update right after check is done. I like this site, I learned a lot just reading your forums.
