Info:: Introducing Linux to Windows users; breaking the train of thought

I wrote awhile ago a small and easy to read explanation of the fundamental differences with Linux to Windows so as people embarking on this awesome journey are surprised along their way with things they assumed were the same but are not.

Its in the article section on my blog [top right] www.dward.us/
Called "Windows users intro to Linux"

Hope it works for some people

It's a nice thing to see the transfer is certainly getting easier.
I'm running SuSE 10.0, and FireFox is default browser and OpenOffice is standard too. I used to use both of these on Windows. There are still a few difficulties switching (dependancy problems when installing still royally miffs me) but it's getting so simple, and it's so worth it!

No more licencing, no more subscribing to anti-virus software, freely downloadable programs, fast updates, increased security... The list goes on! Linux is finally becoming a viable replacement to Windows, it's powerful, and it's becoming really user friendly.

Yes, I am a Linux Advocate, converted from Windows! Praise be unto Tux!
