I'm living in pop-up city

The pop up's are getting really annoying, I've run ad-aware and AVG, and both keep removing things, but never permanently it seems. Also on a side note, the kids use AOL IM and I don't like it running in the backround, can you tell me how to get it out of the startup, I remove it from the start up program, but it somehow gets back there after reboot. Thanks. Mike

Howdy bmike,

I do not use IM software regularly - best if you ask for info on making changes to AIM at the CTH Internet/Browsers forum. No infection is showing here, but perhaps those scans you have done removed any obvious signs. Let's take a different look right now.

Go Here and download Silent Runners to your desktop. Run it, and post back here the log it creates. If your AV queries the script, allow it to run. It's not malicious. It will create a file named Startup Programs, and will notify when the scan is complete. Copy the log from the Startup Programs file back here.
