What is a "Morgan Multimedia Stream Switcher"?

Hello,
I don't know which forum to ask this, so I will try here. I am attempting to recapture still images from a DVD slideshow I made using a software called Pixplay.
I can copy it back to my computer in VCD and Dat files. I know I need different codecs to open these, and tried to install K-lite codec pack. I downloaded it, but when I tried to open it, I got a message "Morgan Multimedia Stream Switcher direct show filter " is detected on my computer and it is a known bad filter and they recommend that I disable it before continuing with the installation.

Sounds pretty ominous to me, so I stopped. Can someone explain this to me? Or if you know of another way to recapture those jpeg images off of that dvd slideshow?
Thanks!
