CD ROM not recognized after reinstall of win98
I am using a Micron 200mhz machine with a CD ROM, floppy and Iomega Zip drive(s).
I began having problems with my display and I attempted to reinstall win98. There was an error at the end of the install but I finally was able to get windows back and running(sort of, I still have the display problems). The problem is that now it no longer recognizes my CD ROM drive and it has renamed my Zip drive as floppy b: and I cannot access that either. I have tried going into bios but it says that my CD ROM and zip are there. They also appear as line items when I boot up. One last bit of info, as I am booting up I get a window that asks me to insert the win98 disc and click ok. I do that and I get a window that says the file sV3.dll on win98 SE disk cannot be found. I go to browse and I only get my C: A: and B: drives. Any thoughts?? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!! Chris |

Welcome to CTH
You obviously have a corrupted installation. 1st if you can get to the desktop then do this: START | RUN Type in SFC Hit OK Check scan for altered files, have the Windows CD ready. After this is done reboot. Then post back. |
